Hello Reader, For a long time, I wore the rise and grind and hustle harder mentality like a badge of honor. I was the woman who brought her A-game to everything I did. I worked late into the night, pushed through illnesses, migraines, and exhaustion. I would feel a nagging feeling of guilt if I took a sick day. I was trying to be the ultimate "boss babe." However, I had to confront where that drive actually came from. I recently sat down with Chase Friedman on his podcast, In Pursuit of Purpose. During our conversation, Chase asked me a question that made me pause: Where did the need to be this "boss babe" stem from? I had to go back to my childhood. Growing up, my life shifted dramatically from a stable environment to a single-parent hone, to low-income housing, and eventually to being homeless. I vividly remember opening the refrigerator as a kid and seeing absolutely nothing. As a teenager, I made a silent vow: I will do whatever I need to do. I will hustle tooth and nail to make sure my refrigerator is full. I will never go without. That survival instinct served a purpose. It got me through college and pushed me to build my career and business. Eventually, the rise and grind mentality began to break me down. I found myself operating out of scarcity and lack, taking on clients that didn't align with my vision, and carrying the burdens of everyone around me. In my conversation with Chase, we talked about the "messy middle" of this journey. We discussed how society rewards output and production, creating a dangerous lie that our worth is tied to our exhaustion. But the truth is, fluctuating demands are real life. Experiencing burnout is not a failure; it is simply a signal that it is time to reassess our rhythm. This is exactly why I wrote Harmony Hustle for Women. It is a book written from the messy middle, offering a compassionate, empowering PRONE to Power framework. As I shared on the podcast, my purpose in this season of life is clear: my wellbeing is my wealth. If my cup is not full, I cannot offer anything to anyone else. I would love for you to listen to the full episode of In Pursuit of Purpose. We dive deeply into the PRONE framework, the art of delegation, and how to create true synergy between your career, caregiving, and your personal time. Listen to our conversation here. And if you haven't yet, listened to the introduction of Harmony Hustle for Women you can do so here. Let's take that burnout and turn it into brilliance together. With gratitude and harmony, SaCola Lehr
